Our playground: software we build to learn by shipping.

Yippify designs, builds, and runs its own products and tools. Each one starts with a problem we want to understand better and ends as working software people use, which makes them the clearest way to show how we think: product decisions, data modeling, architecture, and deployment. Further down are websites we’ve designed and built for clients.

Products and experiments

Software we design, build, and run ourselves, from a full SaaS product to a catalog of small browser tools. For each one: the problem, what we built, and what we set out to explore.

Engineering Delivery Intelligence

VeloWise

Turning software delivery data into useful leadership insight.
The problem
Engineering teams have plenty of delivery data, but it shows what happened, not why. Leaders still reconstruct a sprint from tickets and disconnected dashboards.
What we built
A B2B SaaS product that connects delivery signals, from scope change and carryover to QA and release lag, so teams can see how one event affected another and what deserves attention.
What we explored
How to turn an ambiguous operational question into a focused product: understand the decisions first, model the workflow, then make the data clear enough to act on.

Focused Web Applications

Useful Little Tools

Small, focused applications built to solve everyday problems.
The problem
Small, recurring sources of friction at work: too small to justify a big application, frequent enough to interrupt the day.
What we built
A catalog of focused browser tools, each built to do one job. Many process working data in the browser, and each explains how it handles your data.
What we explored
Choosing the right amount of software: prove one job is worth solving before adding accounts, permissions and dashboards, and let real use decide what grows.

Cycling Training Insights

SurgeIQ

Useful cycling training insights, without a subscription.
The problem
Cyclists record power, heart rate and cadence, but the useful questions come afterward: what are my zones in watts, how hard was that session, and am I getting fitter or just more tired?
What we built
Free tools that work out power zones in watts, explain training load, fitness and form in plain terms, and turn workouts into structured steps that download as FIT files for a bike computer.
What we explored
Data-heavy product design: model the domain carefully, compute the numbers correctly, explain them well enough to act on, and say clearly what the software doesn’t do yet.

Government Contracting Platform

FedPath

Government contracting, without losing the whole week to it.
The problem
Most of the work in government contracting happens before a small business decides to bid: reading long notices, comparing requirements with what the company can do, and judging whether an opportunity is worth the effort.
What we built
A GovCon platform that brings SAM.gov opportunity search, Fit Analysis, Go/No-Go decisions, pursuit tracking and a Compliance Matrix into one workflow.
What we explored
Automating the repetitive parts of a workflow-heavy process while keeping people in charge: show the evidence behind every finding, and leave the decision to the business.

Client websites

We also design and build websites for businesses and organizations. A website is often the first product a customer uses, so these are built around what a visitor needs to do next: call, visit, register, volunteer, or sponsor.

Local business website

Union City Smog Check

A local smog station, found, trusted, and called in seconds.

A family-owned, STAR-certified station competes with chains on search and maps. Most drivers arrive on a phone with one question: can I get my car tested here today, and how do I get there?

We redesigned and rebuilt the site for Union City Smog Check, a STAR-certified smog check station in Union City, California, as a modern React website that answers that question first: call and directions up front, live hours, STAR certification in plain terms, and real photography from the station.

  • Mobile-first design with call and directions one tap away
  • Local SEO for drivers in Union City, Fremont, and Hayward
  • Answer-ready content for search and AI assistants (AEO/GEO)
  • Clear services, hours, and location, with real business photography
  • A fast, performance-focused build

Community & event website

Berkeley Omnium

A historic race weekend, told well and easy to join.

A race weekend with roots in 1957 serves many people at once: racers who need to register, sponsors who want to be seen, volunteers, families, and a community that funds East Bay youth cycling. Each needs a clear path to what they came for.

We designed and built the event website for the Berkeley Omnium, home of the Berkeley Hills Road Race and Berkeley Streets Criterium, organized around the two races, with registration always in reach and clear paths for sponsors, volunteers, collegiate and junior racers, and the community impact the event funds.

  • Race and event information structured for a two-day weekend
  • Registration-focused UX, plus sponsor visibility and volunteer sign-up paths
  • Collegiate, junior, and kids racing content, and impact storytelling
  • Photography, video, and motion that capture race day
  • SEO, AEO, and GEO on a static, AWS S3-friendly build
