Software development for the problem you actually have
Websites, internal tools, custom web applications, SaaS products, modernization of existing systems, and the AWS infrastructure underneath them. You can come to us with a business problem instead of a specification.
Start with the problem. We’ll help figure out the technology.
Common starting points
Six situations we hear often, and the kind of software each one usually needs.

Websites & Web Design
For a new website, a redesign, a landing page, or a site that needs to do more for the business. Looking good is the minimum. The site should also load quickly on a phone, be easy for search engines and AI assistants to understand, and make the next step (call, book, buy, sign up) obvious.
A useful website should
- Look good
- Load quickly
- Work everywhere
- Easy to maintain
- Help people find you
- Help visitors act
What we do
- Website design & development
- Responsive business websites
- Marketing sites & landing pages
- React & Next.js websites
- CMS and content-driven sites
- Website modernization
- Performance & accessibility
- SEO-friendly development
- Analytics integration

Custom Software Development
When existing software doesn’t fit the workflow, a focused application can replace workarounds without adding another giant platform.
- “We’re doing this in spreadsheets.”
- “Someone assembles this report every week.”
- “Our systems don’t talk to each other.”
- “Our software doesn’t fit this workflow.”
- “We copy and paste between applications.”
- “We need a tool, not a giant enterprise platform.”
These can be good candidates for custom software.
We map how the process works today, find the repeated friction, and recommend whether the answer is a web application, internal tool, automation, integration, or process improvement.

For founders and teams turning an idea into a product. An MVP is the smallest product that can test the idea with real users, built on a data model and deployment you can keep if the idea works.

We can help at any point: deciding what the first version should include, designing the architecture, building and launching it, or taking over a prototype that now has to run in production.

- MVP development
- SaaS architecture
- Frontend & backend
- REST APIs
- Authentication
- Data modeling

- Cloud & CI/CD
- Production deployment
- Performance & scale

Government & Public-Sector Software
Public-sector systems usually come with strict access rules, accessibility requirements, older systems to integrate with, and users who can’t switch to another provider. We plan for those constraints from the first conversation.
Applications
- Custom government applications
- Citizen-facing web applications
- Internal government systems
- Workflow applications
Security & integration
- Secure web applications
- Data integrations & APIs
- Cloud modernization
- Accessibility-focused development
Sustainment & delivery
- Application maintenance
- Legacy modernization
- Engineering leadership
- DevSecOps / CI/CD support
Engineering experience that carries over
The same disciplines public systems depend on show up across our selected engineering work.
See selected engineering work See FedPath, our GovCon platform for small businesses- Modernizing platforms
- Incremental migrations, architecture, infrastructure, and search, instead of rewriting everything by default.
- Connected systems
- Mobile, web, REST APIs, business logic, data, and AWS working as one system.
- Reliable delivery
- CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, testing, and deployment brought together around the product.
How engagements are scoped. We review security, compliance, and authorization requirements for each project before work starts.
Discuss a public-sector projectModernization, cloud, AI, and more
Work that doesn’t fit the categories above. If your problem isn’t listed here, describe it anyway.
- Application modernization
- Improve an existing system without defaulting to a full rewrite.
- API development & integrations
- Connect applications, services, vendors, and internal systems.
- Cloud & AWS engineering
- AWS architecture, infrastructure in Terraform, deployments, and the cost and reliability problems that arrive with growth.
- DevOps & CI/CD
- Automated tests, builds, and deploys, for example with GitHub Actions, so releases are small and routine.
- Data & search applications
- Data processing, reporting, and search built on PostgreSQL or Elasticsearch.
- AI & LLM features
- Document processing, search over your own documents (RAG), classification, and LLM integrations with tool calling, used where they beat a simpler rule or query.
- Mobile applications
- Connect mobile experiences with APIs, backend services, and cloud architecture.
- Technical leadership
- Architecture and delivery decisions with an experienced engineer who also writes the code.
- Existing application rescue
- Inspect an unfamiliar system, identify priorities, and help implement fixes.
If a previous developer left, deployment is unreliable, or technical debt is slowing work, we can inspect the system, identify priorities, and help implement the improvements.

How we work with you
You don’t need to arrive with technical requirements. We work through the problem with you, then recommend what to build first and why.
Our approach, in detail- 01
Problem
You do not need a technical specification to start.
- 02
Understand
Learn the current process, constraints, and outcome that matters.
- 03
Simplify
Find the smallest useful solution, evaluate options, and explain the practical tradeoffs.
- 04
Build
Design, engineer, test, and prepare the software to run.
- 05
Launch
Get the solution into real use.
- 06
Improve
Learn from what happens and refine where it creates value.
Who we can help: Startups, Small businesses, Established companies, Product teams, Engineering teams, Nonprofits, Government organizations, Teams with legacy systems or manual workflows.
Questions about working with us
If your question isn’t here, ask it in your first message.
What types of software projects does Yippify work on?
Websites, internal tools, custom web applications, SaaS products, workflow automation, integrations, modernization of existing applications, AWS infrastructure, and AI features such as document processing and search. Most projects start from a business problem rather than a technology choice.
Can you improve an existing application instead of rebuilding it?
Yes. We review the system, identify the constraints and risks, and recommend targeted improvements. Rewriting everything is one option, and usually not the most practical one.
Can you build an MVP or SaaS product from an idea?
Yes. We help decide what the first version should include, design its architecture and experience, and build it so it can grow if the idea works. An MVP should be small, but built well enough to keep.
Can you replace a spreadsheet or manual workflow with software?
Often. First we look at who uses the spreadsheet, where errors or delays happen, and whether a process change or a focused internal tool would help most.
Can you take over an application built by another team?
Yes. We review the code, dependencies, deployment, and workflow, then explain what is working, what is risky, and where to start.
Do you build both frontend and backend systems?
Yes. We work across user experience, frontend, backend, APIs, databases, integrations, cloud infrastructure, testing, and deployment.
Can you help with AWS and deployment?
Yes: cloud architecture, infrastructure as code with Terraform, deployment pipelines and CI/CD, scaling, monitoring, and AWS cost reviews.
Do you work with small businesses?
Yes. Some of the most useful projects are small: one spreadsheet that runs the operation, or a weekly process that takes someone a full day. We will also tell you when an off-the-shelf product is the cheaper answer.
Do you work on government software projects?
We can support custom public-sector applications, internal systems, accessibility, integrations, modernization, maintenance, and delivery. Security, compliance, and authorization requirements are reviewed for each project.
What if I know the business problem but not the technology?
That is how most projects start. Describe the problem in plain terms; recommending the technology is our job.
Tell us what’s happening
You don’t need a technical specification to start.
An idea, a broken process, an old application, a spreadsheet that runs too much of the business. Describe it in a few sentences and we’ll suggest a sensible next step, even if that step is small.
